Violist Kathleen Kalogeras is an Ohio native who attended Baldwin Wallace College before moving to Boston to continue her education at Boston University and New England Conservatory, working with such excellent violists as Marcia Ferrito, Steve Ansell, Michael Zaretsky and Walter Trampler. For the past 30 years, she has been an active performer in New England, leading several viola sections as principal. She loves chamber music and spends her summers performing with various ensembles in the Cyclades Islands of Greece, where she is based on the historic island of Naxos. There she also helps run a summer camp for the children of the island, introducing them to classical music through group instrumental lessons and choral participation.
